Laut Kering






Laut Aral (Kazakh: Арал Теңізі, Aral Tengizi, Templat:Lang-uz, Rusia: Аральскοе мοре, Tajik/Persia: Daryocha-i Khorazm, Danau Khwarazm) adalah danau yang terletak di Asia Tengah. [gw jg bingung, danau tp ko namanya laut] Danau ini terletak di Kazakhstan utara dan Uzbekistan di selatan. Namanya secara kasar diterjemahkan sebagai "Laut Kepulauan", merujuk pada lebih dari 1.500 pulau di danau ini.

Laut Aral, yang dulu merupakan danau terbesar keempat di dunia mengalami penyusutan seper-sepuluh ukuran normalnya. Penggunaan tanpa-batas sumber daya air selama 50 tahun terakhir, yang dimulai pada era Uni Sovyet, telah mengakibatkan salah satu bencana terbesar dalam sejarah modern –keringnya salah satu bendungan air alam paling indah di planet kita– Laut Aral,” kata Duta Besar uzbekistan Alisher Vohidov

Menurut Vohidov, volume Laut Aral telah menyusut hampir 10 kali lipat, dan permukaan air telah menyusut lebih dari 4 kali lipat. Permukaan air telah anjlok lebih dari 29 meter, dan garis pantai telah bergeser puluhan kilometer.
